Why Procter & Gamble And Tide Chose To Help In The #CentralTexasFlood

Proctor and Gamble’s Comforts of Home and Loads of Hope arrived in San Marcos on Monday and Comforts of Home started delivering much needed items to our flood victims almost immediatly. Loads of Hope takes more set, fine tuning, and started their first load of laundry Tuesday morning. Corridor News wanted to know how Procter & Gamble came to the decision of bring their service to San Marcos and get some history of how this wonderful service came to be.

“Based on feedback from our disaster relief partners and emergency personnel, we’ve chosen to go to San Marcos because of the widespread flooding in residential areas and our ability to help the most families through our services,” said Claudine Zukowski from Procter & Gamble

“When a disaster strikes, the first thing on everyone’s mind is the safety of their families. The last thing last thing they are concerned about saving from their home is a toothbrush or bottle of shampoo. Yet, we know that once they are safe in a shelter, there is a strong desire to clean up and begin to find a sense of normalcy and routine. So we are sharing these kits of everyday essential P&G products to help people during this difficult time,” stated Zukowski.

“They have delivered needed items to Wimberley, San Marcos, and Martindale. “We plan on leaving this friday, but will stay as long as there is a need'” said Zukowski. While in San Marcos their hours will be 8:30 AM – 5:30 Pm

A little history on Tide Loads of Hope from their website:

Over 58,000 loads of laundry cleaned for families affected by disasters, and counting…
In times of disaster people turn to the most basic of human needs—and one of those is clean clothes. When disaster strikes, Tide Loads of Hope provides relief with our mobile Laundromat, washing, drying and folding clothes for families in need. One truck and a fleet of vans house over 32 energy-efficient washers and dryers that are capable of cleaning over 300 loads of laundry every day.

When the mobile Laundromat is not deployed, in some instances we also provide product donations to areas affected by disaster. We spend multiple days at the disaster site washing, drying and folding clothes for free for the families affected.

Of course, we do it all for free. Because, as we’ve learned, sometimes even the littlest things can make a big, big difference.
