Wildlife Rescue Seeks Hays County Properties To Release Rehabilitated Animals

“Each year kind-hearted Texans alert us to animals that need our help, and now we need to ask landowners to help us out by allowing us access to their land…”

Wildlife Rescue, Inc., is asking property owners with 100 acres or more in Hays County to allow the 501(c)3 nonprofit to release its rehabilitated animals on their land.

Any property owner with 100 acres or more can help provide homes for birds of prey, water birds, and small mammals such as rabbits and squirrels. Wildlife Rescue serves eight Central Texas counties, including Hays.

“Each year kind-hearted Texans alert us to animals that need our help, and now we need to ask landowners to help us out by allowing us access to their land,” said Hayley Hudnall, Executive Director. “In 2016, our small staff and many volunteers served 6,000 animals that otherwise might have died of injuries or neglect, and right now our small facility is full of orphaned and injured animals that will soon need a home.”

Interested landowners who want to help rehabilitated animals should contact Hudnall at (512)472-9453 or wildliferescue@sbcglobal.net. Visit www.austinwildliferescue.org to learn more about Wildlife Rescue’s mission and how you can help.
