Wymore Kicks Off Campaign With Plans To Take On Zwiener In 2020

Unveils endorsement list of 170+ local elected and Republican Party leaders…

Driftwood TX — Bud Wymore officially kicked off his campaign for State Representative District 45 at the Salt Lick BBQ on November 6 with about 300 supporters in attendance.

Speakers included Hays County Sheriff Gary Cutler, 2018 Republican nominee for the position Ken Strange, Hays County Commissioners Mark Jones and Walt Smith, and the National Anthem was led by State Republican Executive Committee Member Carla Sisk.

Wymore also unveiled a list of more than 170 endorsements, including a 54 current and former local elected officials and Republican party leaders throughout the district, which includes Hays and Blanco counties.

Wymore spoke of the fundamental differences between him and his Democratic opponent in November. “Our current representative, Erin Zwiener, is openly socialist, supports open borders and a state income tax, and was rated the 6^th most liberal member of the Texas House. Her agenda is not our community’s agenda and we must not let it prevail,” said Wymore.

“I am a product of this community and a product of our values. I was educated in our public schools, where my mother was a school teacher and principal. I started a business here, and my wife and I are raising our four children here. Like so many others in our district, I understand the real-life challenges that face hard-working professionals and their families, and I believe that our state representative needs to work for us and our community, and not extremist political agendas,” said Wymore.

Wymore has been active in the local business and school community. He runs a local law practice focused on business and real estate matters, and has volunteered as a youth sports coach and served two terms on the Campus Leadership Team at his children’s elementary school.

He also has a record of leadership in the Republican Party. While attending law school, he was elected one of the youngest chairmen to ever lead the Hays County Republican Party.

After concluding his tenure as party chair, Wymore continued to serve as the party’s General Counsel. Recently, he successfully represented Hays County Commissioner Lon Shell in a lawsuit filed by his Democratic opponent that sought to thwart the will of the voters and threatened the narrow Republican majority on the county’s commissioner’s court.

“I believe that common-sense, conservative ideas can solve the challenges that face our community, like reducing property taxes, fixing congested roads, creating local jobs, improving local schools, and making public safety a priority. That can only happen when Republicans nominate candidates who are authentic to our core values, not only in their words but in their actions; candidates who are serious about solving problems, and whose devotion to our community is unquestioned,” Wymore said.

The Wymores reside in Driftwood with their four children, Kent, Isla, Abigail, and Avery, all of whom attend Hays CISD schools. When not practicing law, Bud enjoys playing with his kids, running with his wife, and playing men’s league basketball with several area friends—all of whom are ready to lace up their shoes and block-walk to elect Bud as their next State Representative.
