Job Corps is a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps young people ages 16 to 24 improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training. The Job Corps program is authorized by Title I-C of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014 (supersedes WIA 1998). Over the many years the young men and women trainees at the Gary Job Corps Center have answered the call to service by the United States Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard

Gary Job Corps Community Relations Council Hosts Law Enforcement Day Luncheon

The Gary Job Corps Community Relations Council hosted the Law Enforcement Appreciation Luncheon held at San Marcos Conference Center. 

Gary CRC President Elva Zdeb and Gary Center Director Patty Lankford opened the Luncheon with addresses from the Gary Community Relations Council and the Gary Job Corps Center of the appreciation for those in Law Enforcement on their continuing sacrifices every day.

Travis County Sheriff Office Chaplain Lamar Claypool shared with the assembly the Invocation.

Guest attending were San Marcos CISD Superintendent Michael Cardona, Texas Workforce  Solutions Ted Groholske, CASA Director Norma Blackwell, Hays County Judge(Elect) Ruben Becerra, Hays County Judge Chief of Staff Alex Villalobos, Justice of the Peace JoAnne Prado, Hays County Constables David Peterson, John Ellen, Office of Congressman Joaquin Castro Ramon Chapa Jr., Hays County District Attorney Office John Roppolo, Lockhart Chief of Police Ernest Padaraza, Green Group Alfonso Sifuentes, Hays County Sheriff Gary Cutler, San Marcos Chief of Police Chase Staff, San Marcos Chamber of Commerce President Jason Mock, and over 150 guest and Representatives of Law Enforcement Agencies.
