Texas State Cross Country Teams Finish at Cowboy Jamboree

STILLWATER, Okla. – Both the men’s and women’s Texas State cross country teams finished the Cowboy Jamboree hosted by Oklahoma State Saturday morning in sixth place in the University Division Race. Pacing the men’s team was Joseph Meade and Madelyn King was the top finisher for the women’s squad.

 

Meade crossed the finish line on the 8K course in a time of 26:55.7 for 20th place. Jose Angel Gonzalez was the second Bobcat to finish the race, nearly three seconds back of Meade. Logan Pittdman crossed the line in a time of 27:17.8. He was followed by Joseph Pena and Kyle Denomme with times of 27:45.1 and 27:53.2, respectively.

 

For King, this was the third consecutive meet that she has paced the women’s team in 20:21.7 in the 6K race. The Keller, Texas native led a group of four Bobcats that finished right behind each other. Coming in behind King was Devina Schneider, Kendra Long and Nikki Sanchez, separated by a little over 20 seconds. Also totaling points for Texas State was Allyson Godfrey with a time of 21:31.2.

 

The final race of the regular season for Texas State is the Incarnate Word Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 8 in Live Oak, Texas.
